NORMAL DISTRIBUTION

Random variables can either be discrete or continuous. Discrete variables cannot assume all values between any two given values of the variable. On the other hand, a continuous variable can assume all values between any two given values of the variable.

Many distributions that are bell shaped and are called approximately normally distributed variables.

Distribution can be symmetrical or skewed.

Skewed Distribution- when majority of the data values fall to the left or right of the mean. The tail of the curve indicated the direction of the skewness(right is positive and left is negative).

Negatively Skew- majority of the data falls to the  right of the mean.
Positively Skewed- majority of the data falls ti the left of the mean.
